Fable Tracker and Scrivener

A well-established desktop app for drafting and compiling long manuscripts.

What Scrivener is

Scrivener is a respected desktop writing app known for its binder, corkboard and compile features, built for long manuscripts and research. It runs as installed software on your computer.

Fable Tracker is a private writing studio and lore wiki for novelists and worldbuilders. You draft chapters, build your world’s history, and link the two together.

In your browser, on any device

Fable Tracker needs no install. Your chapters autosave and your history is kept, so you can pick up where you left off from another device.

A lore wiki that knows your chapters

Notes about people and places are real linked entries: see who appears in a scene, and where each entry is mentioned across your book.

Share what you choose

Publish a public wiki for your world, or invite readers and co-writers with roles, while everything else stays private.

When Scrivener may suit you better

  • You want an offline desktop app and the fine control Scrivener gives over formatting and compiling for print.
  • You prefer to buy software once and keep it on your own machine.

Moving over, or trying both

Fable Tracker imports Markdown, plain text and Word (.docx) files for chapters, and exports everything as plain files, Word and EPUB, so moving never locks you in. From Scrivener, export your draft as Word or plain text, then import the files.

Writing, lore and export are free, and paid plans only add capacity. See the plans.
